Skeg route for Beeston on the Beach?
Went to Skeg and back yesterday, really good route and all verified, suggest it for forthcoming ‘Beeston on the Beach’, if it happens.
I’ll also take this opportunity to mention again that google map routes can easily be converted to GPX format by using this link whilst on the google map page.

Just paste the above into a bookmark, where you would normally have a URL, then use that bookmark whilst on a google map page. It uses a bit of javascript to modifiy the google map page and compile the GPX.
Time Trial Thursday 2 April 6:45
First VC Long Eaton time trial this Thursday. 10 miles. Same course every week so you’re racing against yourself. Check out
and click on club courses tab. Bring along a few quid. I think it’s £2.50 to enter and give it a go. I’ll be cycling down and happy to meet anyone at Sawley at 6:15
Bring some lights if you’re cycling home.
A new route home
This is the route I did on Saturday with Steve. You’ll see the route home is somewhat different and more challenging than going downhill through Beeston. It’s si,ialr to the challenge ride route home but with some nice little differences off the main roads.
Inner tubes – when they’re gone they’re gone
Just to let you all know there are only 2 packs of 5 (42mm valve inner tubes left) £10 per pack. There are 9 packs of (50mm valve inner tubes left) £11 per pack.
Like the title says – when they’re gone, they’re gone

Anyone Up for a Road Race – Rothwell 12 April 09??
There is a road race 31 miles in Rothwell, just south of Market Harborough on the 12 April. Entry £11 but you have to enter before 4 April. I plan to go and have a go at this one, (not a crit its a road race). Anyone else interested it is a Sunday, we should be able to fit it all into a morning.

Cloves Hill and More
Here are some photos from this mornings ride. Paul’s first ascent of Cloves and 2 new riders Steve and Nick. John is being chased up by a trctor and managed to beat it up, well done John.
Graham, Adam and I went on to tackle Riber with as shot of the 20% conquered!

I have almost completed my bike build. Only two main things still outsatnding.
Rear brake and Saddle.
