An event?

Is this kind of event something people might want to emulate? Maybe ‘Beeston to the Beach’?

Shimano Custom Moulded Shoes

Santa was kind enough to bring me a pair of Shimano shoes that can be custom moulded to your feet with an oven, a plastic bag and a vacuum (apparently!)

Does anyone have any experience of these, and does anyone know of any shop’s that do it?

Racing Calendar

I’ve been ill with cold and now cough over Christmas so not been out.  The break has given me a chance to plan weekends in the first part of the season. March April May.  Those with EOD can be entered on the day but it’s cheaper in advance, others need forms sending off soon to get a place.  Before I send  my cheques off are other BCC RR team members looking at the same races?  Struggling to find anything for weekend of 20/21 March….any ideas?  I’m happy to change races if others going elsewhere.  Are we having a racing meeting to look at races and strategies at some point?

Any 40 routes?

Has anyone got any 40 mile routes in their repertoire? I’m looking for a couple of flatish ones, someone said out to Bottesford and back is 40, but are there anymore known ones out there already?

Reason I ask is that coach said it’s better to do 2, 40 milers a week (2 hours each ride) than to push for a fast 50 straight away.

Alternative to 100 on 30th Dec

Mike,  Adam and Adrian are out on their 115 mile challenge so as an alternative (weather permitting) I will be going on a 2.5 hour 50 miler, average target speed 20 mph which will mean some parts will be about 17 and other 26 (ish) mph. I don’t want to hang about so be prepared to be breathing hard, swearing on the hills and generally on threshold all the way round. Faster would be better but that is the target.

7:30 am start Argos, back at 10!

Leave a blog comment if coming, and keep an eye on the weather.
