Insurance Clarification

The following description of levels of insurance, as I understand them, may be useful.

BCC membership.  As BCC is affiliated to British Cycling any members have liability insurance when acting in an official club capacity and the club has liability insurance for any events we organise.  Once we are affiliated to CTT (Cycling Time Trials) as we soon hope to be I believe members will be covered for liability insurance for Time Trial competition.

British Cycling Membership http://new.britishcycling.org.uk/membership/article/mem–Membership—the-full-details-0

Bronze – No insurance benefit

Silver – Individual liability insurance including when competing

Gold – As silver, plus personal accident insurance including when competing

Bike insurance for theft, transport damage and accidents including when competing can be bought separately from British Cycling (and most insurance companies).

Exec Committee Meeting

This Wednesday sees the Executive Committee meeting at 8:30pm at The Commecial public house.  All members are welcome to attend in a non participating capacity.  Anyone wishing to see the Agenda (there is a lot to discuss and decide) please mail me at secretary@beeston.cc

A summary of the minutes will be added to the blog within a week with the full minutes available on request.

Once the meeting is closed the gathering may develop into an informal social as has happened in the past.

BCC RRT Frame

I spotted in the comic this wek that you can customise your frame colour at

http://data.ridley-bikes.com/customizer2010/noah2010.html

I’ve been playing with Blue White Black and of course Orange with some surprisingly tasteful results

Now all we need to do is find £4k each and we’re in business

Tuesday 2nd Feb chain gang

Leaving Argos at 8pm with a warm up out on the way to Long Eaton. We will start riding faster after the roundabout coming out of Long Eaton. the route follows two loops and then on for the finish at the rise after Risley.

This week will be a trial so prob not completely at full tilt.

Lights needed a some bits are unlit.

If you have never ridden in a group before have a look at the draft for some of the etiquette.

Chain Gangs Tues and Thurs

This Tuesday is the route Adrian has mapped out and is open to all but will be a bit less aggressive than the Thursday one.

I think the Tuesday one has a 8 pm start from Argos but Adrian is best placed to put the details of that up.

The Thursday one is the usual start from Argos at 6:45.

I can now attend both, wohoo!

French help

We are going to France on holiday and I am trying to see if there are any local crit races on. Through the FFR i have located some kind of race run by Bordeaux Saintes C.O on 22nd August via the FFR website but am not sure if it is a crit race that would be accessible to spectators.

Can any of you French speakers contact and ask for me? There is an e mail but not a website that I can see.

This is a race we saw at Notres Dames near St Jeans de Monts about 5 years ago – nice aluminium frames!

Profile image

Hi,
I am new to the blog and was wondering how to get a profile image, I’ve asked my dad but he also doesn’t know what to do.

So if you have any idea please let me know.

Thanks Francesco
