Who are you and tell us a little about yourself?

23 year old PhD student in synthetic chemistry and pharmacology at the University of Nottingham and nearly full time athlete.

What’s your motivation to get on your bike?

To be the fastest out there, every mile trained is a mile closer to winning.

What brought you into cycling?

I was a rower and got to European championships but couldnt make the next step into the squad above. My brother also rowed but turned to triathlon, he said I should do the same and come over. I was quick on a bike so I thought why not try and beat my brother at another sport.

What are your short, medium and long term cycling goals?

short term: sub 20min 10mile TT, get cat 3 ASAP.

Medium: selection for world and european triathlon champs

Long: get a Zipp disk

Do you have any strengths / weaknesses on the bike?

weakness- not a sprinter

Strength- consistency of pace, able to turn screw when needed, Hills

What was your first bike?

No idea!

And what is your favourite bike that you have owned?

What bike/s do you currently own?

Scott CR1 team with zipp 404 wheelset is the only one up and running atm

Road and TT

What’s your funniest moment/thing you’ve seen whilst on a bike?

probably falling of the turbo trainer

probably my 50mile southwell route!

Not really, will see this season.

Describe your ideal ride.

A flat 10mile TT out and bike through the countryside

What is your favourite bit of kit?

got a few, my zipp 404 wheels, my oakleys or my giro advantage 2 helmet.

Where is your favourite café?

Anywhere where they sell coffee and muffins!

What do you do when it rains?

Get out there and get wet. Your opposition is probably sitting on his backside staying in the dry.

Do the walk, talk, gear freak or fashion victim?

Probably gear freak!
