Charnwood in the spring Audax 11/04/10

Charnwood in the spring Audax 11/04/10

Has anybody else entered this?

Steve B, Liam and I are entered. It is a local 110km ride starting in Trowell, and going out through Stanton-Kegworth-Belton and then around Beacon Hill to Swithland woods, a great cafe stop/control at Stonehurst farm, Mountsorell, and then out to the Six Hills and back to Trowell via Kegworth.

I rode it last year, it’s a nice ride and well supported by riders from a lot of local clubs, it would be good to see a few others there.

I would also be happy to distribute flyers for the ‘Beeston Challenge ride’ if they are printed pocket/Brevet card size.

All you need or at least some of what you need to know about Audax is at there site.

Click on calendar, scroll down to April 11th and click Trowell.

Remember entries need to be in at least 2 weeks before, so you have a couple of weeks to get your entry in.

There is a bikely link to last years route, this year it starts from Trowell rather than Moorbridge lane, up to date routesheets are usually sent out in the fortnight before the ride. The Cafe stop at Stonehurst Farm is at 31.7 miles.

I have the rare opportunity to ride on tuesday eve, is the not so novice chaingang crew gonna be out on Tuesday?

I see the big boys may be tackling the full chaingang route, what will the NSN gangers be doing if out?

Picking up Rhod in Long Eaton.  May extend a little further towards Grantham so between 60 and 75 miles.  Brisk pace but not too intense – 18 mph ish average.  I will chuck in a few sprints in a vain attempt to sharpen up for the following Saturday.

7:30 Argos

Sat 27th Ride – Scraptoft and Back

Anyone fancy a flat (ish) but testing (pace) ride to Scraptoft post office and back on Saturday morning? I’ve done Ashbourne a few times now and want to do something a bit different and pacey. Weather permitting,  usual 7 am Argos, leave a comment if coming. Be prepared to breath hard.

Sunday Morning Sprints

I am out mid morning on Sunday to do some sprint intervals from Long Eaton to Breaston and back. Not sure of time yet but probably abut 9:30 to 10 ish. These will be 30 seconds full out sprints followed by 3 minutes recovery, about 3 or 4 on the way out and the same back. Will be about 1 hour

I will post again with a fix on the time later today. If interested leave a comment if not no worries.
