Distance: 44.00km

Duration: 1hr 20

Usual Tuesday night "fast" winter training route. 28 miles, rolling roads, expect an average speed of 21mph+. Big lights needed for the un-lit sections; also mudguards if the roads are wet.

The aim is to ride this fast as a group, doing turns when you can and holding on otherwise. It should be smooth at the front of the group, rolling through to keep the pace high, rather than opening gaps whenever someone goes through to do a turn. If people get dropped because they can't hold on at the back that's fair enough, but let's try to keep it rolling well on the front if we can.

Last one before the clocks go forward. Traditionally we switch to Hilly Night once it's light in the evenings (until the Tuesday night TTs start), but it depends a bit on the weather. In any case I'm away the next two weeks, so whatever you decide someone else will need to post it.

Ill be joining you at the top in Ilkeston at 7:30. The earliest I can get the Bramcote Hills at the moment is about 7:20, so gives me just enough time to get through trowel and up to Ilkeston to catch you.

Tom - I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm OK with pushing the start time back to 7.30 if you're tight for time. Will be different once the clocks change, but if it's dark anyway then the extra half hour doesn't really make any difference to me.

If anyone else is riding please voice an opinion on the start time soon. If no-one objects by lunch-time on Tuesday I'll change it to 7.30.

Sorry to bail guys - my knee is still not right, it seems, and once it started playing up I just took the shortest way home. Hope you didn't get too wet and cold too - it's bloody miserable out there.

Quick reminder too - I can't make the next two Tuesday nights, so someone else will need to post up the ride [or Hilly Night if you prefer ;-) ].
