Sunday Social Steady - Medium Route
9:00 Sun, 29 Oct 2017
Duration: 2hr 30
A fairly flat route designed to encourage everyone to get out their bike, dust them off and come and enjoy some easy social riding in some great surroundings.
Approx. 33 miles with a coffee stop at the end at The Bean coffee shop.
*Usual Social Ride guidelines:*
The aim of the Social Ride is for riders of all abilities to get together and ride in a sociable group and have a no drop policy; we never leave a rider behind.
The pace will be dictated by the slowest rider on the day and will typically range between approx. 12-16mph average. However the terrain will decrease or increase that.
It would be advisable for each rider to know the route or have a map / GPX.
For large groups we need at least 3 people to take on sweeping-up duties to ensure no one gets left behind. This will be agreed on the day.
If a group on the day decide that the pace isn't fast enough for them, they need to let the ride leader know before they shoot off. This is not a problem at all, however they need to consider is this ride for them as the ride guides are clearly stated.
If the social ride does split up which can happen naturally due to hills etc, then the lead group will wait at the next junction for the rest re-group.
This social ride can attract riders from local clubs plus riders not affiliated to a club. Beeston CC requires it's members to ride responsibly at all times, with due regard to the rules of the road and with consideration to all other road users. Each individual rider is responsible for their own behaviour on the road. Beeston CC cannot accept any responsibility for the actions of individual riders.

Thanks for great ride out, embarrassed myself on ride home with Phil, by inexplicably falling off at University roundabout...doesn't bode well for off-road riding...
