Hopefully you all will have received the email below from Richard. If you haven't received the email and you can help please can you put your name down here.

This should be a great opportunity to showcase Nottingham and our club at these popular national games. Richard is asking you to email him soon so we can confirm that we can take part.

Hopefully when we confirm we have enough people I will become the main contact for the two days on the 8th and 9th.
I will also be commissaire at the Harvey Hadden races on the 8th.

As these games have many events over the four days there is the possibility that some of our members will also be participants representing their companies.

Cheers
John

>> Email from Richard
As a club with a reputation in organising great events we have been selected to organise and run the two cycling events for the UK Corporate Games held for the first time in Nottingham on the weekend of July 8th and 9th.

As Corporate Games are a worldwide event held in different cities of different countries we are both honoured and proud to have been asked to help at the first Nottingham Games.

Before we can accept we need members to volunteer. We estimate that we would require 10 people to help with the road race held at Harvey Hadden Stadium on Saturday 8th July and say 10 people to help with the TT held at our Sutton Bonington circuit on Sunday 9th July. Both events will be in the morning only. Following a meeting we have ascertained that the volunteer duties are no more onerous than the normal road races and TTs we already run.

As a volunteer you will have full access to everywhere the competitors have!

This will be a great opportunity to showcase our club to a wider audience and I would therefore ask that anyone interested in helping please contact me as soon as possible.

I'm riding Sherwood CC 10 on 8th..
Do you know how many places there are in the TT? And if it is 1 minute between riders?

Sarah DK can help both Days:-)

Richard at the moment not sure of the numbers.
Probably will know about two weeks before. We would then work out the time splits. Ideally 1 minute between riders would be ideal.

It is a great honour for Beeston Cycling Club to be invited to officiate the cycling events at this year’s UK Corporate Games which is being hosted by Nottingham City from the 6th – 9th July 2017.

It is called the Europe Corporate Games and this event is Europe’s largest annual multi-sport festival for businesses. The Games has a powerful 25 year History in the UK and it has visited a host of terrific Cities. It is going to be one of the major events of the year in the East Midlands and fantastic facilities will be used for each of the festival components. There will be 23 great sports on the packed weekend programme.

On the 8th and 9th of July the Games will feature Cycling with a Multilap circuit race at Harvey Hadden and a Time Trial at our Sutton Bonnington TT course. Both cycling components are part of the wider event but they should be really good fun for the officials and contestants involved in the festival.

This event will feature cyclists from Nottingham, the East Midlands and from throughout the UK. The atmosphere at the venues will be outstanding as there will be 22 other sports at different locations around Nottingham with 16 being played on the University of Nottingham Campus.

The Games is for the marshals, umpires, referees and officials too so in addition to experience all selected helpers will receive additional benefits like, a personalised Games ID and registration guide, Officials T-shirts, Games Gifts, Souvenir programmes and everything that the Competitors will receive, as it is a festival for everyone.

Everyone involved in the Games can register at the SuperCentre Celebration at the brand new David Ross Sports Village on the University Campus on either the evening of Thursday the 6th or Friday the 7th July where there will be a great fun atmosphere.

For a glimpse of what the Games looks like please feel free to view www.corporate-games.com.

All helpers will also be eligible to attend the Grand Parade of Athletes on Saturday evening (featuring sponsored prize giveaways) and The Great Games Party on Saturday Night. From a CV perspective, it could also be good for everyone to say that they have officiated at Europe’s largest multi-sport festival for businesses.

We will touch base soon on numbers of people who want to be part of the BCC game makers team.

So we volunteer to give employees of businesses a nice day out after they've paid £78 a head to enter? Sounds more like a junket than an inclusive sporting event but I'll stand corrected!?

As it is getting near now, just want to confirm people.
We have Curtis, Ian, Sarah, Pete R and me on the organising committee, which is defined roles from the UK Games.

Marshals/officials on the day, if you can confirm that would be great:
Paul Newson on Saturday 8th
Sally on Saturday 8th (tbc)
Barry is a TBC either day
Sean on Sunday 9th

We need approximately 5 for each event.

It would be great if you can come along and help out, plus it should be an enjoyable day seeing riders come from all over the country.

Julian I believe 90%+ of the participants don't pay it is the company that pays.
I know that people from the region and members from local clubs are riding, quite possibly members from BCC too. Also there are riders coming from all over the country to take part. We will certainly be promoting BCC at this event.

Barry is a confirmation (depending on him being a grandad :-)
Ideally we need three more for each day.

I can see the attraction of promoting Beeston CC to the wider world and I don't wish to stand in the way of any of that but there's something a little bit off-kilter here when there's a company making a massive amount of money from entry fees yet expecting people to give up their weekend and run the event for them for free.
In other words, it's not who's paying for the places, it's who's being paid. My inner-Corbyn tells me something's not quite right...
