Winter lights (yawn)

Perennial question but what's the (cheap) big light of choice these days? I've been using the Chinese lanterns with the housebrick batteries for a good few years now and wondered if as usual things have moved on without me.

Meteor Storm Pro - no massive battery pack required and give out a lot of light.

I got one of these when it was on sale for £60 which is really good, no battery pack either

everyone loves a lights thread. For the tighest here's my suggestion.

Adequate, but really no better than they've ever been, though they are cheap!!

the cheap chinese lanterns are fine for road use.
However in my experience they are limited off road, due to the lack of spread in the beam - for off road i would suggest getting something "proper"

Yup, I'm still faffing around as usual. That looks like a nice compromise, cheap, but not burn your house down when it's charging cheap.
