I'm planning this but tweaking the route anyway to bypass York. From then on the official route stays south of the A166 and goes through Pocklington etc and is pretty flat so I wondered if it would be more scenic/interesting to include the Howardian hills, not as far north as the moors and Whitby though.
Any opinions?
Having walked the C2C I'd like to ride that but the Appleby Horse Fair coincides with the free weekend I've got to go riding.

I've done something similar in 2017, but the other way around, ie Bridlington to Morecambe (starting in Hull), though I did go via York. The Forest of Bowland section was awesome. I'll try to find my routes (though the garmin battery died a few miles before the end as I'd been out so long!)

Here is a recent website that has it.
https://www.cycle-england.co.uk/en/holidays/way-of-the-roses-coast-to-coast/

Cycle England is a new venture with Visit England, Visit Lincoln, and Welcome Yorkshire to promote cycling holidays to the dutch and german market. https://www.cycle-england.co.uk/en/

I am on the board of Cycle England and this has just been launched to the market and if successful it will be rolled out across England.
