Chris Till wins and gets Cat 2 licence
Great win for Chris Till, in the Overst RL - Orston circuit, VBCC, Cat 3/4 on the 10 Aug 2016.
This deserved win has been a long time coming on the back of lots of second and top 10 places which has resulted in Chris going from a cat 4 to cat 2 in a season. Chapeau Chris.
The race was marred by a crash in the peloton which resulted in broken bones, bikes, road rash and even a cassette was seen on the road side, as the the group came past on the next lap of the circuit.
Our Jack Heath and Matt Sparkes were caught up in the crash but came away with mainly superficial road rash, luckily no broken bones. However poor Jack's bike frame snapped. Colin Warden luckily avoided the crash and managed to stay in the race and finish in the pack.
Throughout the season all our squads have looked to animate the races rather than just sit in the peloton and scavenge for points, and this race was no different and Chris's win was helped by our riders continually testing the group.
This season has seen our squad grow and compete in many more races successfully across the region. Especially our younger riders who are moving up the Cats and pushing for senior places.
