Another busy weekend of racing
Today seen Sally and Jess race up at Darley Moor. It was a glorious day at the normally wind swept Darley Moor. Jess and Sally rode well and the riders were continually rotating and taking turns at the front. Jess recognised that she should have gone long using her TT strengths as she knew that she wouldn't have been able to claim victory on a head to head sprint. Sally played super domestique guiding Jess to the final bend leading up to the sprint finish.
Sally is looking to get more ladies into racing and circuit racing is the perfect, safer environment to give it a go. Contact Sally if you are interested.
Yesterday the boys were looking to animate the EMRRL which they certainly did with a blue jersey in every break. However each break wasn't allowed to stay away. The majority of the peleton were prepared to just sit in and let others do the work which is no bad tactic but that is not our way. It's about making the result happen. The group all came together for the final sprint and we were just out of the points. In the post race chat the team were happy with how they raced as a team and we have to accept that sometimes it may not come off but that is racing.
As last year's Team and GC champions we would like to congratulate Elliot Harrison of LLB who came second yesterday confirming him with this year's GC title.
Another notable placing was Chris Bates (RPD) who grabbed a great 7th.
The last EMRRL race is next week and we are sitting 2nd in the team competition and 4th and 6th in the GC standings. We are going to push as hard as we can to consolidate our team position and get onto the GC podium.
