Early season update (first two weeks)

As the season starts many of our riders are getting race ready in a series of early races within and outside the region. At this point we are holding off on putting out full teams at these early races to allow individuals to get in as much racing as possible in preparation for our target races. We welcome some new faces to compliment our existing team and look forward to a good season of racing.

Saturday 4 March

Sam Amps raced the Cat 4 at MKBowl, Sam was riding strong but dnf due to crash. Sam is ok and we will update on his expected return.

Tomas Miller, Chris Limberger, Jack Corah and Ed Wu raced the Cat 2/3, at MKBowl, Jack dnf due to illness, the others finished strong in the bunch.

Sally Maitland raced in the Matlock 25 mile TT, although Sally wasn't happy with her time due to conitions, she still came in a respectable 3rd in her category.

Izzy Wild raced the ladies E1234 at MK Bowl, for her first race, she acquitted herself well, stayed near the front and avoided the crashes. She finished with the main bunch but just outside the points.

Saturday 11th March

Jack Corah and Tomas Miller raced the Spring Chicken in Bucks, both finished in one piece, Tomas was racing for the win or a top 10 but got boxed in and finished just outside top 20. Jack recovering from illness rode well and finished just after the bunch.

Iain Carr who has joined us from Team Army raced the Darley E123. Iain escaped and got held up behind the predicted early season crashes and finished in the chasing bunch.

Sally Maitland and Laura Owler raced the Ratae Leveller, road bike 10 mile TT, but this course was affected by traffic lights so times were affected. On a positive note, they were pleased with their performances and progression for the season ahead.

Sunday 12th March

Iain was understandably cautious at Darley as he was then shooting off to Belgium to race in the kermesse in Haringe, 1.12B race (elite/U23).
A field of 120 plus riders started and approximately only 50 finished. This was a hard race, real tight and in the gutter on a compact circuit with 50% on single lane roads. Iain finished strong in the bunch which is great preparation for our targeted races.
