A busy two weeks
March 25th
Sam raced in the Darley Moor cat 3/4 and was going very strong until he punctured. The new rules of no lap out for punctures meant that he was too far away to get a wheel change thus thwarting any chance to get back into contention.
Iain competed in the very fast Darley Moor cat E/1/2/3 and finished strong in the bunch. Although he didnt get in the top 10 he is gaining good ground and is starting to knock on the door for top place finishes.
April 2nd and 3rd
Sally competed in the Melton Olympic CC open 10 TT, she was not happy with her time, but her training is on track for when the ladies team start racing together soon.
Phil Giles recorded a great 2nd place in his age category at the LVRC league in Solihull. Phil came third over all in a very strong field which shows that he is getting back to prime fitness.
Ayrton Carlton raced the Clarion Fenland E123 race. An ambitious attempt considering he only started racing in December 2016 and has only raced circuits. This is great expereience for Ayrton and he is promising to be a strong member of the squad.
Matt Jones and Chris Limberger raced the Coalville Wheelers E123, ambitious first road race of the season for young Matt as he is a Cat 3 but his training is going well, and Chris still not back up to his former fitness of last year. Both will be off to sunny altitude training camps in next few weeks so we will see them return in May hitting good form.
We lose Iain at the end of May for 3 months due to work commitments, he will be racing for us in Belgium and a few weekends over here when on leave.
Despite no wins yet the team are putting in good early season preformances and they are pushing hard to make the next months more profitable.
Good luck to the team next weekend as they race in the EMRRL hosted by Beeston Cycling Club.
