I am up for this although would prefer a more sociable 8.30 start if that were possible....?

I've done this a few times. In my experience it takes 1.5-2hrs to get there depending on the route, speed etc. If you get there early you'll get a mince pie, but then you'll have a long wait for the prize draw at midday ish. Last year we got bored waiting and missed it. What I'm saying is it may be better to plan to arrive later when it will be at its busiest, so you can see as many other people, clubs etc, which is the point of it after all. It really should be our 'end of year social ride' if enough people get into the spirit of it.

Cheers Paul, I have had similar experiences, I plan to arrive there just after 10, have a mince pie and a cup of tea and then head home, don't want to be later than 11:30 really.

Had a lie in, left at 10am and arrived just in time for the raffle and the last mince pie! 45 miles all round in fantastic weather for the time of year.

You were lucky yo get anything if VCLE were there before you, looked to be about 40 of them riding towards Belton as we left.

met some LFCC boys and girls at Mallory ,post pie ride, said they had seen BCC......where there is food, Mr Boot can usually be found!
